The Band of HM Royal Marines, Portsmouth
The Band of HM Royal Marines Portsmouth and the Chichester Cathedral Choir perform some of Holst’s greatest compositions. Recorded in Chichester Cathedral during October 2009. This recording is a representation of the concert performed in Chichester Cathedral on the occassion of the 75th anniversary of Holst’s death, during which a new memorial to him, called Music of the Spheres, was unveiled. New arrangements of Turn Back, O man and Te Deum in B flat are also premièred on this superb recording. When played on BBC Radio 3 the presenter commented “What a fantastic sound”.
