The Band of HM Royal Marines, Flag Officer Plymouth
This recording of historic importance was the first commercially available
recording to be produced, recorded and mastered wholly by members of the
RM Band Service. It was originally released as a 12-inch vinyl on the FOP
(Flag Officer Plymouth) label, Cat. No. FOP1. This venture in the mid 1980s
was a result of the newly established 'in-house' recording facility in the
upgraded band facility at HMS Raleigh (the Royal Navy's 'New Entry' establishment)
in Cornwall . At the same time an annual programme of training in Recording
Techniques was established generating considerable interest in this subject
by a large number of the band members. >>
